Gardiner's School House
picture and article submitted by Diane Movius-Martin
Here are some pictures that my Dad, William (Bill) R. Movius, had from when he attended the one room school house in Gardiner, now the Gardiner Community Center. I wonder if anyone can identify themselves or their relatives from these pictures.
My Dad told me that when he attended Gardiner School, each year before the Veterans Day services at the Gardiner Cemetery, the entire school walked down together to "pull" grass and clean up the Gardiner Cemetery. They made sure it looked nice before the services. Dad said it always made him feel proud and he remembered it all his life.
(If anyone would like to put some names to the people in the pictures below please let me know and i will add the information to the web site. email webmaster.)

Check out the names that are on the back of the school picture. Maybe you know someone here you didn't even know you knew
